NFL star Joe Kingman (Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson) is in his prime: He's rich, famous and one of the world's most eligible bachelors. There's nothing that can throw him off his game. Nothing, that is, except for the emergence of the 7-year-old daughter (Madison Pettis) he never knew he had. Now, with his team gunning for a title, Joe must find a way to balance crushing gridiron action with bedtime stories and ballet classes.
In order to fully appreciate this story, you must like Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, a precocious little girl, a predictable and rather tired plot, a football team, a beautiful dance teacher, and an ugly, but lovable dog. If those ingredients do not appeal to you, then I would skip this one. It's sappy, but somehow The Rock's energy pulls it all together. The music is fun at the end and I could see 8-10 year old girls loving this movie, although some of the football sequences are geared more for boys. It had something for everyone, but definitely targeted families and the young crowd.

This movie is not really different than many others out there. The only thing that elevates this film above similar fare is The Rock. He is hilarious in this movie. I have been waiting for the film that really elevates him to the next level. While I don't think this is the film that will do it, he is much better than Vin Diesel in a similar role in The Pacifier.

The Rock showed everyone why he's The "People's Champ" in this one. The WWe fans that followed him for years knew how funny he was & he shows it here. This is a great family flim u can just sit back & laugh, laugh, laugh. When u think u cant laugh no more cause your sides hurt,You will laugh some more!! Everyone did a excellent job. A must see if u havent & if You have will rent again Highly recommend this one

Pretty darn predictable, well it is a Disney movie, but it has enough character to hold its own. "The Rock" plays a pro football quarterback who finds out he has an eight year old daughter. There are a lot of "Ah" moments. A good movie for the family. "I think my mom was tone deaf and you sound more like an injured moose."

A cute film that all the kids and parents are sure to love. A great family night film for anyone. Me however...well I though it was okay...a little over the top in someways. I liked it but didnt love it and I dont know if I will recommend it per say unless I think the person is really into family type movies. I watched it once and dont think I will go back for a second helping of this one anytime soon.

This is a must see family film! Disney has a successful formula for these though guy turned softy family films. While it was a formula tried in The Pacifier (2005), Vin Diesel did not have nearly the convincing performance that Dwayne Johnson (the Rock) had here in The GamePlan. I was very pleasantly surprised, that he could carry the roll so well. I thought he was even more authentic as the sensitive father than the arrogant self centered guy Joe Kingman started out to be. Yes there are a few cheep laughs but it is part of the process. In the end this becomes a very touching father daughter story. A predicable inspirational ending actually brought a tear to my eye (yes I am a softy). The daughter is played by the adorable and seasoned (well beyond her years) young actress, Madison Pettis. Innocent but assumptive, she wants a spot in her dads heart and she makes a space where there wasnt one. Kyra Sedgwick plays the single-minded focused money motivated agent for Joe while Roselyn Sanchez (a ballet instructor) counterbalances the self centered focus with a voice of reason and pushes him to be a part of his daughters life. All the pieces fit together nicely. Even the foot ball team provides great comedic relief. This is a must see. Hope this is helpful!
