Dev Anand (brother of Hindi director Chetan Anand, who helmed this film) is a taxi driver in Mumbai, India. He meets a singer (Sheila Ramani) who has come to Mumbai in search of her guru, and their friendship soon leads to romance. The film's outstanding soundtrack includes some memorable songs by Talat Mehamood and Lata. A must-see for any Dev Anand fan.

I'm seeing: Enjoyed By Members Who Enjoyed Taxi Driver - My Best Fiend: Klaus Kinski - M - The 400 Blows - La Dolce Vita. (!!!) This is definitely a glitch in the recommendation system. While this may be a superior example of a Bombay musical melodrama, its relationship to the films listed above is entirely due to confusion with the Scorsese film. There's a user who put this film on his 'Deniro' list; similar errors by other users are probably responsible for the recommendation system's confusion. Unless you actually enjoy Bollywood musical melodrama (and of course many people do!), stay away.
