Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation

The Starship Troopers (played by Bill Brown, Colleen Porch, Cy Carter, Drew Powell and Ed Lauter) are back to take action against the Bugs in this fast-paced film directed by Academy Award winner Phil Tippett. Unfortunately, their enemies are ready for them, and they end up stranded, unable to fight their way out unless they team up with those who betrayed them. I found the original starship troopers quite entertaining, but this one was such a dissapointment. Even through i'm a pretty serious sci-fi junkie, this movie stunk :(

It's a cheesy low budget sequel, but really not that bad if you judge it on it's own, and don't compare it to the first Starship Troopers. It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected after seeing all of the 1 star ratings it got from other reviewers. I have to admit I liked it. It is more Horror and less Sci-fi than the first, but compared to other B Horror movies I've seen lately, it is on par. I enjoyed it enough to not regret watching it, which is by no means an endorsement, but rather a half-hearted defense of it. For me it was okay.
