In this remake of the award-winning European romantic comedy Mostly Martha, Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Kate, an emotionally fragile chef whose life is turned upside down when she becomes guardian of her niece (Abigail Breslin). Used to absolute control -- both in her kitchen (which she rules with an iron hand) and at home -- Kate now faces chaos on all fronts, as both the child and her new sous chef (Aaron Eckhart) work their way into her heart.
Saddest romantic comedy I've ever seen. Cliches aplenty. Felt bad for the downstairs guy.

Another 5 star review from my wife. I think there is cooking involved? And that little miss sunshine girl is in this one.

After reading other reviews, I rented "Mostly Martha" a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. Then when my husband went to see "War" last night, I saw "No Reservations" instead and enjoyed it as well. The characters were believable, the story was predictable but engaging, and overall it was much better than I expected. I agree that "Mostly Martha" is better. I shed a few tears for the Martha character, but interestingly, didn't for Catherine Zeta-Jones' Kate. And I believe the Italian chef in "Mostly Martha" was a much stronger character than Aaron's Eckhart's interpretation of the same character. However, if you haven't seen "Mostly Martha" or don't like subtitles, then this is a fine substitute as the story unfolds almost identically. And yes, the food they prepare and describe looks and sounds heavenly!

A sweet romance about a Aunty that following her sisters death has to take care of her niece, in between she manage to juggle fine cuisine and Aaron Eckhart. Abigail Breslin the up and coming Hollywood juvenile is playing the daughter, and watch out Dakota Fanning there is a new boss kid in town.

Absolutely enjoyable! I loved this movie. So cute & romantic and sweet! Catherine is as stunning as ever and her character is brilliantly brought to life. Aaron does not disappoint in his role either. In fact I though Cathrine & Aaron were a great pair in this film. Abigail is adorable and does a great job in her role as a girl who recently looses her mother in a car accident leaving her in the very awkward hands of her perfectionist aunt Catherine. Aaron arrives on the scene and melts Abigail's heart which is quickly followed by her aunt's. Definitely a good movie for ladies night. I would recommend this film to all romantic comedy lovers.
