Action-packed and passionate but this revenge story is perhaps methodically familiar for most. If spectacle however, and not plot, is your expectation, you will not be disappointed. A sweeping epic that is best seen on a large screen, the action is detailed, vibrant and often times gory. And Russell Crowe is very convincing in this awarding winning role. Finally, the visuals FX are grand in nature and will transport you back to these violent times with a sense of Hollywood sincerity. While maybe not 100% historically faithful, Gladiator is still great fun for those willing to be entertained in this fashion. Highly recommended.
