Elfen Lied
A destructive human mutant with telekinetic powers is befriended by a couple of trusting teens in this sci-fi anime. Lucy, a form of horned mutant that scientists believe will eventually destroy mankind, kills the laboratory guards and escapes, but is shot in the head. With no memories of her past, she encounters two teens who take her in. The teens and their families have no idea what they're in for when Lucy's destructive powers return.

This is a combination of the worst parts of a super violent show and a harem show AVOID AT ALL COSTS- CG 1911698
I am brand new to the world of Anime, however, I do enjoy movies in general with different offbeat subjects and plots. After picking up Elfen Lied Vector 1 on a whim, I was hooked and had to rent them all. The story is very good and keeps you wondering what will happen next. Yes, its disturbing, but that is probably why I like it. If you are a fan of the avant-garde check this one out. I also agree the music and anime are top notch!

I've only seen the first episode on OnDemand, but they roll out anime so slow Im' picking this up. It is seriously disturbed. When you see an innocent secretary's head cut off, then her body used to block the zillion bullets, you KNOW it is just gonna get sicker after that. And yes, I'm curious to see more just because it's like watching a train wreck...so wrong and yet you can't look away.

Scared the hell out of me. Sorta in the Homosuperior way. It really does deal with evevolution. Of course it's an anime and quite bloody but if i'm not mistaken that is what happened to Cro Mangum man or at least the popular belief(not four psyic arms ripping people to pieces but being wiped out). Also deals with rather horrid subject matter in the case of the youngest member of the makeshift family. Lots of nudity NOT FOR CHILDREN!!! Although the opening Music is nice a haunting old christian piece sung in latin. Other wise unless you are mature enough to deal with adult subjects do not even bother(of course this is an Anime) this is a very hard series to watch but one that you can not look away from once you start.
