Cowboy bounty hunter Spike Spiegel and ex-cop Jet Black patrol the galaxies for dangerous criminals in this futuristic anime. Spike and Jet resort to dangerous tactics to bring in the universe's most wanted, and trouble's never far behind. Joining the pair aboard the spaceship Bebop are femme fatale Faye Valentine, computer hacker Ed and smart doggie Ein. Completely remastered and remixed, this version features newly animated scenes.
A starship called "Bebop." Weird, huh. A 21st Century sound track that fits the name. Hmmm... Bounty hunters are called "Cowboys" so let's put a couple cowboys on the starship. Yeah. That works. Make one an ex-cop and the other a runaway enforcer form the Yakusa crime syndicate. Hey! It's getting better. Now for the spice. Along the way, why don't we pick up an extremely smart cowgirl who happens to be a compulsive gambler and can kick butt. Uh, oh. I feel it going downhill. Don't we need a couple more crew members? NO. I disagree. How can we leave the intellectualized lab dog behind? We can call him Ein. You know, like Einstein? Jeeze. I get it; I get it. Are we done yet? Nope. There's this infamous 10 year old hacker named Edward who might really come in handy. She's a little out of control but she's great when the chips are down! Right. Edward's a girl. (sigh) Figures. Jet, the ex-cop, owns the Bebop and a small salvage ship. Spike, he owns an armed custom racing ship and Faye has a little cruiser that's heavily armed and it all fits in the Bebop's hanger. That's one bizarre crew. Yup, and a formidable one too! And these weirdoes go after the baddest criminals in the universe? Yup. And take them down? Yup. That's what they do. And they're good at it? Well, they take their share of knocks and they don't always come home with the bounty, but they always get their man. Or woman. Bebop. Yeah. Spike. Like facing hell in combat. You know, this could be good. Uh, huh. It is. Really good? Even better. Do ya think I should check this out? Well, duh! Why do you think all these words are stacked up under "Cowboy Bebop Remix?" Oh. Why remix? Cuz they put it back in the shop and refurbished it so now its all shiny. Ok. I'm sold. Good. It's about time! I hope my thoughts are helpful 05/31/08 ~~~Wingz

A Sci-Fi/Western about a gambler, a hacker, a cop, and a member of the Yakuza sporting a great jazz soundtrack? Yeah. Cowboy Bebop is a mish-mash of genres, and like Kill Bill (which came after it by the way) it's genre-bending isn't just the gimmick but a world. I like anime but very rarely do I find such a strong balance of character, drama, action, and comedy. It's usually one or the other with Anime, but "Bebop" takes it's genre-melding to heart. fusing an assortment of moods and maintaining every conceivable tempo.
