Blood +: Part 1

I liked Blood The Last Vampire, and this is sort of a continuation (sort of not) of the same characters and ideas. The story is well told over the course of the DVDs and well, there's a lot of blood, mostly from deadly shapeshifting monster things that cause a lot of trouble. Along the way there are side stories as well. The soundtrack is also really really good. Can't wait for the next 25 as the story promised to get better....

First off I like this the animation is quite well done the blending of art and CGI excellent. the musical score is what we have come to expect from Hans Zimmer (you don't win Oscars for not being one of the best. he won for the Lion King and was nominated for Rain Man) Still I felt the story lost some of the menace from Blood the Last Vampire or I should say Saya has lost some of her menacing feel and the story also but to a lesser degree. I do like the more detailed and complex world and the filling out of the story. Which of course Blood the Last Vampire was lacking Also the voice acting in English is great (yes like everybody else I sometimes also watch a movie or anime in Japanese with English subtitles. some movies just have to be done that way especially when you are doing fan subs). I would say this is actually a 3.5 series so far but as everybody knows I rate high. (Also be advised that disc 6 is the interviews with the Japanese voice actors and previews of other movies not any episodes of the series) I hoped this helped and thank you for your time
