Highlander: The Source
The only one of the Highlander series that seems to at least have some continuation over its preceding film. The film promises to answer questions, but does not. You get clues to the ending right from the opening sequence, but its not really an answer to questions about the mythology surrounding these immortals. If you've seen Highlander 2, it was explained but largely ignored, and at first, it looked like this movie was going the same way right from the opening. The alignment of the planets and the constant closeup views of Saturn and other astronomical movements in the the sky (they keep recycling visuals), bicycle gang canibals on an island...yes, its all as ridiculous as it sounds.

Date Movie
The basketball scene had to be THE funniest part of the movie for me! Ineresting how Carmen Electra manages to appear in all the movie spoofs! Yes, there are scenes that are stretched out and dumb, but this is meant to be a dumb comedy that kids can also laugh at!

Lifeforce
London is plagued by life-sucking alien vampire/ zombies from outer space, what more do you want?! Actually its a lot better than I make it sound! I remember Ive seen bits of this on TV as a kid and the drained bodies used to creep me out!

Delta Farce
Seemed like a rehash of "3 Amigos" in a way. Cheap laughs. Bill Engvall's character's fate doesn't totally make sense, since the screw-up was made by another country. But that would have been unpatriotic.

Fast Food Nation
I hadnt looked at the details of the movie and was expecting a comedy! Wow, this was a serious movie. The cast is great but it has a very somber tone, and I dont think I like how the movie was edited together, but the message the movie is trying to send is clear.

War of the Worlds
I like the update on the classic, but the arrival, ways of attack, reason & timing for invasion are either not really explained, or are old-fashioned & traditional compared to the rest of the modernization in the movie. If they were envious of earth, why did the decide to take it millions of years after the tripods were buried? One of many questions. But the focus of the movie is the journey for survival of the main characters through this event. I actually thought the movie went too much into that, but then again, if not for that, there wouldn't be enough story to care. There are scenes that give homage to the 50's version. Regardless, it was good 2 hr summer movie fun!

Troll / Troll 2: Double Feature
The hero of Troll 1 is a boy named Harry Potter and he is surrounded by a fantasy world of witches, wizards and magic - more than a decade before J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter novels swept the publishing world!
